Organized By: SKA London (South Kanara Association London)

Date: September 13th 2026

Venue: Alperton Community School, Stanley Avenue, HA0 4JE

Event Schedule & Proceedings

  • 9.30 am – 10.30 am: Welcome & Family Photo Session
The day commenced with a vibrant photo session at the main entrance, capturing wonderful moments of families and community members gathering together in traditional attire to celebrate our traditional feast, rich cultural heritage, and faith.
  • 10.30 am – 11.30 am: Children’s Flower Offering (Fula Ushayche) & Procession
This was followed by the traditional flower-offering ceremony, a deeply cherished tradition where children joyfully presented fresh flowers to Mother Mary alongside a colorful procession in an expression of deep respect, devotion, and community spirit.
  • 11.00 am – 12.30 pm: Solemn Konkani Mass
At the heart of the celebration was the Holy Konkani Mass, celebrated with great fervor and devotion by Fr. Jason Pais. Blessed corn (Novem) was solemnly blessed and distributed, grounding the community in their shared cultural and spiritual heritage. A special note of thanks is extended to everyone who brought offerings for the Mass. Although Fr. Valerian Castelino was unable to attend the Mass, his presence was warmly felt as he later joined us for the afternoon celebrations.
  • 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm: Traditional Harvest Lunch (Noven Jewan)
A traditional, delicious Mangalorean lunch was served, prepared with love by our dedicated cooking and kitchen volunteers, bringing everyone together in warm fellowship and gratitude.
  • Prior to the Cultural Event: Raffle Ticket Sales
Exciting raffle tickets were sold, adding to the anticipation, engagement, and festive excitement of the afternoon.
  • 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm: Cultural Programme & Felicitation
The Cultural Programme showcased incredible talent from children and adults across the various wards. During the cultural celebration, both Fr. Jason Pais and Fr. Valerian Castelino were deeply appreciated, formally thanked, and honored for their dedicated spiritual leadership and for gracing the event with their presence.
  • 4.30 pm – 5.30 pm: Traditional Baila Dance
The festivities concluded with the traditional, energetic Baila dance, bringing everyone to their feet and leaving the entire gathering with wonderful, lasting memories.

Vote of Thanks

A formal Vote of Thanks was delivered by President Sunil D'Cunha, expressing deep appreciation to all who made the day possible. A successful celebration of this scale stands as a testament to the strong bonds within the Mangalorean diaspora and would not have been possible without the dedication, hard work, and continuous support of our community members, spiritual leaders, sponsors, cultural performers, and volunteers. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated SKA London team and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and in the kitchen to make the SKA Monthi Fest a resounding success!
