SKA London Badminton Tournament 2025 – A Day of Sport, Spirit & Smashes!
On Sunday, 22nd June 2025, the courts at Cranford Community College came alive with shuttle smashes, fast footwork, and vibrant community energy as SKA London proudly hosted the annual SKA London Badminton Tournament 2025. From children to adults, seasoned players to enthusiastic supporters, everyone gathered for what turned out to be an unforgettable celebration of sport and togetherness.
This exciting day of sport and community was made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors — Mr. & Mrs. Lobo and Eugine Dias & Family. Their contributions played a vital role in making the event a success and are truly appreciated by the entire SKA London family.
The day began early, with a dedicated group of volunteers setting the stage. At 8:00 AM, Alfred D’Souza, Lyzel D’Souza, Peter Fernandes, Vinay Pereira, Loy D’Souza, Walter Cutinho and Sunil D’Cunha arrived to transform the Sports Hall into a professional tournament venue. Their commitment ensured the event kicked off smoothly.
The official inauguration was led by Brian Mathias, a longtime SKA supporter, whose words emphasized unity and the spirit of the game. With outstanding support from SKA London as the main sponsor, the event was well-coordinated and full of enthusiasm. Lester D’Souza served as the master of ceremonies and game coordinator, while Loy D’Souza expertly managed the entire flow of matches throughout the day.
The matches began shortly after, with competitive yet friendly energy radiating across all courts. Thanks to the commitment of all participants and the precise scheduling, every game ran like clockwork.

A heartfelt thank you to all the guests, families, supporters, and participants who joined us for this special occasion. Your energy, encouragement, and community spirit brought the tournament to life. Events like these shine because of the efforts of every volunteer, every athlete, and every cheerleader in the hall.
Special appreciation goes to our partnering communities — UK Konkans, MUKA Nottingham, and the passionate members of SKA London — for making this day not just about badminton, but about belonging.
As the final rally echoed through the hall and trophies found their rightful owners, the day ended not just with winners, but with memories made, bonds strengthened, and community spirit celebrated. Until next year, the SKA London Badminton Tournament 2025 will be remembered as a smashing success.
